Meet April B.

Hi! I Am April B.

I am on the continual, exciting yet sacrificial journey of BECOMING all of who God has created me to be! God has given me a heart for people and to see us live in full freedom. True freedom and identity are only found in God through Jesus. I am grateful to be called to preach, teach, speak and minister to God’s people and see lives transformed through God’s love, power and truth. God has given me the unique opportunity to share my gifts, knowledge, and expertise to make an impact within the faith community and global marketplace.

I am a licensed Christian Minister through the Potter’s House School of Ministry under the leadership of Bishop T.D. Jakes. In 2012, I earned a Master’s degree in Learning and Organizational Change from Northwestern University. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Geography from the University of Washington. In 2019, I was honored by the Dallas Business Journal as a Top 40 Leader Under 40. At the start of the pandemic, Dallas Morning News featured my story of how faith has guided my career and community impact.

I am the founder and Executive Director of Bold Believers United Ministries. Founded in 2016, this nonprofit 501c3 organization exists to awaken, equip and activate believers in Jesus to boldly impact the world through uncompromised truth, love, power, and unity. Our signature program is the C4: Christian, Character, College and Career Experience for youth grades 6-12. C4 provides exposure, knowledge, and resources to equip underserved youth across each critical pillar–Christianity, character development, college, and career exploration–within a safe community of caring adults and like-minded peers who desire more for their lives than what they have seen. Young people are my heart. Learn more at BoldBelieversUnited.org.

Additionally, I am a change strategist who thrives in uncertainty and helping others do the same. In the marketplace, I have worked in leadership roles in which I have trained, developed, and coached over 4,000 people and spoken to over 20,000. I am the founder and CEO of Bowman Global, LLC, a change management and professional development firm that provides training and consulting. Bowman Global’s Racial Justice and Unity interactive on-demand video course and workbook has impacted the lives of thousands within the first year of being created and is being utilized by an entire school district. So grateful that God has allowed me to partner with Him to co-create for the cultivation of His people across sectors which all belong to Him.

Serving is a part of my everyday life. I am committed to mentoring historically oppressed youth and young adults. I serve my local church - The Potter’s House in which I have been a member since moving to Dallas in 2012. I am member of Christie Dobbins Ministries, “Closing The Gap” core team. I am an alumna of the Mayor’s Star Council, Leadership ISD, Education Pioneer Fellowship and Urban League. I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. For a number of years, I served on the grant review committee for the Texas Women’s Foundation and the Executive Team for a Potter’s House ministry.

Outside of work, ministry and serving, I love to travel, especially to warm climate places with blue water beaches. Being in or around water replenishes me! I also enjoy creative arts, especially live music, dance and photography. I am a Chicago native, who lived in Seattle for over a decade. I currently reside in Dallas Texas and love the geographical freedom that entrepreneurship and working remotely provides.

Boldly,

April B.
